The Bible Stamp

The Bible Stamp

South Africa was meant to release ‘The Bible Stamp’ on the 19th of November 1987 but it wasn’t meant to be, the 40¢ stamp contained two lines of script, one in Koine Greek, the language of the New Testament, and other in Hebrew, the language of the Old Testament, both of which contained the word “God.”

Even though the stamps had already been sent out to post offices they were never sold to the public, however a few did make it into collectors hands.

It has now become famous around the world and a control block of 4, as illustrated, can sell upwards of £4000.
